The 2021 Maine Boatbuilders Show promises to be the best installment yet of this annual event.
Not only will the 2021 show be located at Portland Yacht Service’s beautiful waterfront facility, but it is also scheduled for the end of July. This change will help facilitate an expansive “in water” display and other outdoor activities.
This older video from 2011 shows the scope and magnitude of the Maine Boatbuilders Show during better times.
Historically scheduled in March, the show has lost some of its prestige in recent years after moving to an indoor sports complex on Warren Ave.
Instead of 20 or 30 examples of prominent Maine built boats (think Hinckley, Sabre, Back Cove, SW Boatworks, Southport, etc.) you were lucky to see one or two larger boats in recent years.
There’s a significant amount of buzz growing in the Maine boating community around the new venue and date of this show. Not only is it poised to recapture its former glory, I believe it has the potential to surpass it.
In addition to Maine boat builders and finishers participating in the event, there will also be dozens of other vendors displaying their goods and services as well. From boat parts, and boating accessories, to nautical themed artwork, clothing, and jewelry.
I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of Maine’s local breweries got in on the action too.

The 2021 Maine Boatbuilder’s Show will take place July 23rd, 24th, and 25th, 2021.

- Saturday, July 24th 10:00 AM to 06:00 PM
- Sunday, July 25th 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM
Where is the 2021 Maine Boatbuilder’s Show
The 2021 Maine Boatbuilder’s Show will take place at Portland Yacht Services and Portland Shipyard located on the Portland waterfront at 100 West Commercial Street, Portland, ME, 04102.
Not only is this a brand new state of the art facility on the waterfront, its also an easy 15-20 minute walk into the heart of Portland’s historic “Old Port” district with some of the finest hotels, restaurants, bars, and shopping in New England.

Tickets to the 2021 Maine Boatbuilder’s Show are available online here.
Tickets are price from $15 to $35 and may different than day of prices.
